Laying of the foundation stone for the EDEKA Future Market

On 17 April, the foundation stone was laid for the EDEKA Future Market in Nauen. An innovative and ecologically sustainable local supply centre is being built in timber construction. Ecological parameters are not only the focus of the construction method: for example, the store will be heated exclusively by the waste heat from the refrigeration units, customers will park under solar carports, rainwater will be used and the site will be designed to be insect-friendly and close to nature, including a meadow orchard. A local retailer is already looking forward to opening the market in May next year.
