ON SITE 01 | TULIUM

Since May 4, the crane has been turning at the TULIUM museum pavilion https://www.zrs.berlin/project/museums-pavillon-und-touristische-wissenspfade/construction site on the TU Berlin campus. Over the next two months, until mid-July, the timber structure will be erected. The first reclaimed timber components have already arrived on site. Completion of the building envelope is scheduled for mid-August.

Meanwhile, prefabrication is in full swing: the first lattice girders have been produced and are awaiting transport to the site. At the same time, columns and downstand beams are being prepared, and windows are being installed into the completed exterior wall elements.

TULIUM is being built as a pavilion for the Mineralogical Collections of TU Berlin, in cooperation with the district of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf. The load-bearing structure consists entirely of reclaimed timber, complemented by further renewable materials and recycled components. The project also serves as a real-world laboratory within the B(e)Ware research programme.
