START OF CONSTRUCTION | THE FLYING CLASSROOM 2.0, BERLIN-SCHÖNEBERG
A temporary building is being constructed for the Friedenau Community School to meet current and projected classroom needs. Construction work began at the end of 2025 on a part of the school grounds that was previously used as a soccer field. A three-story flat-roofed building is being constructed using prefabricated timber panel construction.
The Flying Classroom 2.0 is planned as a free-standing, temporary extension to the existing school and serves as a pilot project for further buildings of this type. A modular structure with flexible partition rooms will help to ensure that this type of building can be realized particularly quickly at other school locations in the future, using pre-tested, module-based planning documents.
