On 29 May 2026, the groundbreaking ceremony took place for a student housing complex in the Rote Kaserne West development area in Potsdam. The project is located on plot WA8 in the Bornstedter Feld and is being developed by ProPotsdam GmbH for Studierendenwerk West:Brandenburg. The design was developed by Berlin-based practice dRMM; ZRS Architekten Ingenieure is responsible for procurement and construction management.

The ensemble comprises 161 residential units for more than 300 students and approximately 2,800 square metres of commercial space. Multi-storey buildings are arranged around a landscaped courtyard. Along Georg-Hermann-Allee, two corner buildings provide urban definition with ground-floor retail. The structural system is based on hybrid timber construction combining cross-laminated timber (CLT) and timber-frame facade systems.

Completion is scheduled for early 2029.
