Governing Mayor of Berlin visits Holz Ziegel Lehm
On July 14, Berlin’s seven state-owned housing associations organized an excursion to exemplary new projects (“Neubautour”) for Governing Mayor Kai Wegner, Senator for Urban Development Christian Gaebler, and Senator for Mobility and Environment Ute Bonde. During the tour, projects from three companies were visited. One of them was Holz Ziegel Lehm – Pilot Project Sustainable Housing in Alt-Britz, developed by STADT UND LAND together with the Arge ZRS Architekten und Bruno Fioretti Marquez. In addition, apart from a school construction project by HOWOGE, the “Klimahaus” in Salvador-Allende-Straße by degewo was also visited. ZRS is involved in this project by BATEG GmbH with acoustic and fire protection planning. Kai Wegner summarized: “Our city needs affordable housing – in every neighborhood, for all Berliners. The state-owned housing associations have been reliable partners in this effort for years.” Ute Bonde added: “Through significant investments in environmentally responsible new construction and modernization projects, the state-owned housing associations are helping to ensure that their housing stock supports our path to becoming a climate-neutral capital by 2045. They are leading by example.”
