11th September 2025 | Engineering seminar on load-bearing earth block masonry acc. to DIN 18940
A new regulatory standard, DIN 18940, has recently been introduced for the design, structural analysis, and construction of load-bearing earth block masonry. The introduction of this design standard marks an important step toward the broader adoption of climate- and resource-friendly construction methods.
Within the scope of building classes 1 to 4, a significant portion of energy-intensive masonry materials could potentially be replaced by earth block masonry in the future. As part of a one-day seminar aimed at structural engineers, leading German experts — including Prof. Dr.-Ing. Christof Ziegert — will provide practical, hands-on knowledge about standardized building materials such as earth blocks and earth mortar for masonry work, as well as the construction, dimensioning and execution of earth block masonry.
The seminar is intended for civil engineers, structural engineers, specialist planners, building authorities, and housing (construction) companies, and includes 8 teaching units of 45 minutes each.
