PUBLICATION: BKI OBJEKTDATEN ALTBAU A13

The new volume „BKI Objektdaten Altbau A13“, published by the Baukosteninformationszentrum Deutscher Architektenkammern (BKI), documents 49 completed renovation projects with detailed cost benchmarks, photographs, drawings, and construction descriptions in accordance with DIN 276. This long-established reference series is widely regarded as the standard work for cost planning in existing buildings, and is aimed at architects and planners who require cost certainty when undertaking refurbishments, conversions, and modernisations. One of the projects featured in this volume is our Administration Building Tierpark.

In 2017, ZRS Architekten Ingenieure was commissioned by Tierpark Berlin-Friedrichsfelde to carry out the energy retrofit of its administration building — a GDR-era concrete skeleton frame from the 1960s with approximately 3,560 m² of gross floor area (GFA). The centrepiece of the project was the complete removal of the existing external walls and their replacement with new timber panel construction featuring a rear-ventilated facade of stained larch cladding and cellulose insulation.
