We, ZRS Architekten GvA mbH, have become a member of the Economy for the Common Good Deutschland e.V. (ECG).

The ECG is an alternative economic model built on the values of human dignity, ecological responsibility, solidarity, social justice, and transparency. It understands climate change, resource scarcity, and growing social inequality as systemic consequences of the current economic paradigm and responds with concrete tools.

One of these tools is the Common Good Balance Sheet: it systematically assesses how a company contributes to the common good in relation to its employees, suppliers, clients, and society. In May, we began preparing our first Common Good Balance Sheet in a peer group together with the companies reCET and Brillenkammer. The peer process is facilitated by Urte Töpfer (certified ECG consultant), Larissa Reise, and Jost Richter.

Circular construction, building in existing stock, and natural materials have been central to our work since the office was founded. ECG membership connects this professional stance to a broader social framework and links us with like-minded people well beyond the construction sector.
