Angler-Heimeran Neighbourhood, Munich | Contract awarded for planning implementation

In the negotiated procedure for the Angler-/Heimeranstraße quarter development in Munich, the bid submitted by the consortium of ZRS Architekten, dRMM, IFUB*, and STADT RAUM PLANUNG was awarded the contract for planning implementation.

The focus is on the cohesion of the entire area and the creation of affordable living spaces. The maximum preservation and appreciation of the existing listed buildings, circular construction, and comprehensive accessibility are the central themes of the neighbourhood concept, which consists of six buildings and three inner courtyards. By preserving the “embodied energy“ stored within the existing structure, the project achieves maximum sustainability. The small proportion of new construction will be built with ecological materials using sustainable construction methods and will be designed to be as circular as possible. The entire life cycle will be taken into account.

The project is one of the pilot projects of the Bavarian state government’s “Gebäudetyp-e” (building type e) initiative and is part of the “Wohnlabore” (living laboratories) pilot series of the state capital Munich. It is funded as an individual project by the Bavarian urban development program.
