Publication: Baunetz Campus | High on Low-Tech
In an article about low-tech concepts, Baunetz Campus presented our project with Bruno Fioretti Marquez, “Holz Ziegel Lehm – Pilot Project Sustainable Housing Berlin”. For the authors, it serves as an example of social housing that succeeds in being climate-friendly, affordable, and free of complex building technology. The article states: “Remarkable: The project is entirely public – planned, tendered, and awarded. A low-tech building of this scale with a public developer is so far without equal. In particular, the use of large quantities of earth is rare in subsidized housing.” The author concludes: “Low-tech can be more than a niche. In Berlin-Britz, an important prototype is being developed for climate-appropriate, cost-efficient, and robust construction.”
